I have decided this will be a happy post. There is just way too much drama right now in my life and I need this “fun spot.”
The balloon festival was AWESOME! Hubby and I got up at 4 am so that we could be there for the first launch of the day. We decided to have breakfast at the festival like we did last year. This could be the start of a really nice tradition
One of the local booster clubs sets up a tent and the parents make pancakes and sausage… YUMMY!!
I got some really great shots! My manager was kind enough to let me use my work computer to download my pictures and burn them to disc. As soon as I get the chance to sort through them and tidy them up a bit I will post a few. I think I may have a couple that would be really great for the photo contest.
I did a little reading on this festival and found out that it’s not like most balloon festivals. From what I understand you cannot go onto the field with the balloon crew at most festivals. At this one you can literally walk up and touch the balloons if you want. I was taking some shots of this gorgeous rainbow colored balloon and the lady operating the fan asked me to come over to her. I looked around hoping I had not stepped on the balloon cord or the balloon equipment in some way- didn’t want to get in trouble
She asked if I would tell the guy in front of her that he needed to hold down the balloon cord. She had tried but he could not hear her for the noise of the fan. So I did and he didn’t understand what I meant so she looked at me and said, “hold this,” then walked over to him leaving me holding the control to the fan!
I would really love to gather up the courage to go on a balloon ride someday. I think at the least it would be really cool to volunteer to help crew a balloon. Or maybe I will win the lottery and just buy my own!

Here’s to a better week for all of us!
