Yep... its true... my first cold of the year
I know, I know... lots of
, juice and medicine. Hubby Ghost has me all taken care of
As soon as a I get out of work I get to
on the way home and then tuck into my warm bed!
I thought I would post about somethings that have been on my mind lately. So... here goes...
First I need to let those of you who have been praying for my co-worker know that she passed away Wed, Apr 30th. For those of you who dont know she was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer in 2006. The last few months were a great stress on her body and I know that now she is at peace and will never be in pain again. My thoughts and
right now are with her partner of 36 years.
Something else that is running through my mind is the accident that happened in Southern Maine last week. A state trooper noticed a SUV driving in the wrong direction and began to pursue the SUV... for 5 miles he tried to get her to slow down and pull over... sirens and lights going... she sideswiped a fews cars and then crashed into a limo killing a 15 year old boy, seriously injuring his father and killing the limo driver. Now here is the
alcohol was involved! Not only was this lady driving wrecklessly and drunk... she has a 20 year history of drinking and driving offenses!
There is absolutely NO excuse for driving drunk! Some people are stepping up for the lady and saying she is a good person, a mother of 2 children and we should think about that before judging her. SHE MADE THIS MISTAKE ON HER OWN! And I know as sure as I am typing this right now that if it were another teenager or even a man those same people would have said, "THROW THE BOOK AT HIM!" It doesnt matter who she is or why she did it. The fact is she drank, she drove, she killed. Period.
Did ya'll hear about the guy in Texas who tried to cash a $360 BILLION check? He stole a blank check and tried to tell the bank teller that a relative had given him the money to start a business. Ya maybe want to start with a few less zero's when doing something like that buddy! LOL
Oh how about a question... what is your favorite book? Or one that you would reccomend for me to read? I am so looking forward to finding a nice, quiet spot by the ocean and reading as soon as the weather warms up a bit more. Im not so much a fan of romance. I kind of like murder/mystery type books. One of my new favorites is Greg Isles and Harlan Coben. I tend to lean towards novels that really take you somewhere... you get lost in the pages and you walk away with something you never knew/felt before... Jodi Picoult is really good at doing that. I have read all but one of her books (and Im getting that one soon)
Ohhh... how about something pretty to end with? HAVE A GREAT WEEK YA'LL!!

Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
Until we meet again friends,
Polly
